Mining for Non-Miners
25 Topics have been developed for this course covering Mining Terminology and Mining Methods through to Mine Costing. Public Mining for Non-Miners courses can be held in Runge training rooms or be conducted in-house and on demand at your premises. The one day Mining for Non-Miners course can be given a coal or metals focus. Both scenarios, coal and metal, can be covered in the comprehensive two-day program.

Dragline Mining Systems
This course addresses issues to deal with the changing industry and the need to improve one's cost position. It presents planning and operational methods of dragline mining systems, and is organised for managers, engineers, geologists, scientists, and operators involved with or having an interest in dragline operations.

Integrated Open Pit Design 
This course teaches the fundamentals of open pit mining (coal). It is focused on medium- and longer-term decision making and is directed at technical and field staff involved planning and optimisation of open pit coal mining operations.

Coal Seam Gas Reservoir Assessment
This course provides a comprehensive understanding of the basic properties of coal seam gas reservoirs. As a result of attending this two-day course, participants will have a foundation from which to assess and interpret information as a basis for coal mine management, coal seam gas production, design and optimisation.

This course teaches efficient and effective mine scheduling through the use of XPAC 7 — Runge's planning and scheduling tool. Topics covered range from the fundamentals of setting up, inspecting and manipulating database information, to creating and modifying schedule outputs.

Xact Basic![]()
Xact Basic provides users with an overview of the XACT short-term mine scheduling application. It takes participants through the short-term scheduling process, from creating a new model through to generating reports. It also covers the fundamental principles of XACT and for each scheduling mode, introduces a range of scheduling, reporting and analysis tools.

Talpac Basic![]()
The Talpac Basic course provides users with an overview of Talpac, Runge’s Truck and Loader productivity analysis software. Participants will be taught how to use Talpac to estimate and compare fleet productivity, evaluate alternative equipment sizes and configurations, assess haulage costs and generate user-defined reports.
