Mine corporate strategyThe majority of Runge consultants have held roles as mine managers and understand how to plan and run mines efficiently. Our consultants provide advice to the highest levels of management on the direction and structuring of mine development and priorities for efficient allocation of resources. Runge can also undertake longer term contracts to specify the scope, award, supervise, and co-ordinate work undertaken by related consultants. This project co-ordination can be undertaken separately to, or in conjunction with our mine planning services. This approach is particularly advantageous in the current climate of severe staff shortages, and allows major studies to be undertaken with minimal client personnel involvement, and with the advantage of using the best personnel for each component. Strategic operational analysisRunge has developed the XERAS business modelling software to evaluate the economics of proposed mining schedules and equipment purchases. A database of forecast equipment operating costs can be developed from first principles and used in the evaluation of many options that relate to the mining schedule. This helps manage the usage of major mining equipment, develop appropriate strategic capital acquisition / purchase agreements, and highlight opportunities for improvements in mine planning.
